Vitaei

Every Vitaei article is reviewed by a second author with relevant expertise before publication. Reviewers are listed on the masthead and can be challenged by name. We disclose every commercial relationship of every author and reviewer at the foot of every piece. We do not accept advertising. We do not accept sponsored placements. We earn affiliate commissions on supplement purchases routed through our index pages, and we publish the commission rate per vendor.

We score evidence on a three-tier system. Tier I is multiple independent randomised controlled trials in humans, with consistent direction of effect. Tier II is convincing in vivo demonstration in mammals plus mechanistic plausibility, with limited or absent human controlled data. Tier III is mechanistic plausibility plus suggestive evidence, with no controlled human data. We do not list anything below Tier III. We update tiers in response to new published evidence; the change history of every entry is public on the Vitaei Index.
